Student/Undergraduate Membership (SUM)
To qualify, you need 5 credits, including Economics, Government or History, and Geography. Sociology, Anthropology, Social Psychology, Political Science, or Human Geography students may get automatic exemptions. Note that that you are paying for just the REGISTRATION FORM via this portal. Professional/Post Graduate Entry (PE)
To qualify, you need 5 credits, a university degree in Social, Natural, Environmental Sciences, or Law. Exemptions are available for many social sciences and law courses. This stage has three paper parts. Note that that you are paying for just the REGISTRATION FORM via this portal. There are other payments.
Associates Professional Sociologists (APS)
Associate status is granted to B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D. holders in Sociology, Social Work, Social Psychology, Anthropology, Criminology, and other ancillary courses under sociology. There is currently the direct membership scheme, which ends in 2026, that means no prior examination to this cadre, as long as you study the above listed courses.Note that that you are paying for just the REGISTRATION FORM via this portal. There are other payments.
Corporate/Institutional Membership
Institutional or Corporate membership is available to private institutions, non-governmental organizations, government institutions; including military, and paramilitary organizations, that supports, the study and advancement of sociological knowledge in Nigeria or beyond.
